These are a rare and ancient breed from Friesland in the Netherlands, introduced into the UK in the 1990's. They are a small sized active breed, available in large and bantam - the large is the same size as a buff rock bantam.
For their size they lay relatively large white eggs of around 225 per year. They are very hardy, friendly, characterful, very inquisitive birds and prefer to be free ranged. These are bred from National Show Winning Stock.
