Bought a trio of these are I am really impressed with the quality - these could be considered show quality, I will see what we get when I breed from them next year.

Bantam Silkies - white. General behaviour is scatty, as they can't see very well due to their pom poms which obscure their vision upwards and behind. With that in mind they are easy to catch though. They lay when they feel like it and are often broody during the summer, but laying a few eggs over the winter season to compensate.
The Silkie, also known as the Silky or Chinese silk chicken, is a Chinese breed of chicken named for its atypically fluffy plumage, which is soft to the touch, like silk or fur. Other unusual qualities include black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and pentadactyly (five toes on each foot) – most chickens have only four.

Really surprised at these, they are show quality birds, good colour, pick ones with a good crest, type and you could be a winner.
Beautiful stock, helpful discussion on the breed and classifications. Reasonable prices from trustworthy site
Love my girls, so cuddly just love them, Jeff was so helpful and experienced with these birds. I just love them.
I have been waiting for these to come in for weeks, and finally they were available, lovely happy, healthy, active little princesses. Cant be happier. Thanks Jeff.
Bought two of these with my Americanas, they don't disappoint, very calm, they just get on with it, no problem with my older warrens either to my surprise. Thanks Geoff.

The National Poultry Club of Great Britain Breed Standards define Chickens as Large or Bantam. These birds are Bantam. ie approx 750g in weight. Large are approx 1300g. Not sure where the minature term has come from, possibly the USA, like the term roo meaning cockerel, but it seems to be gaining momentum with Silkies. Minature=Bantam basically.
The pics on the website are fairly typical of them. I have added more on the website now.
